Market Day at Loule Pt. I Journal 31

Most of the markets in the Algarve happen on Saturday.  Loule's market is always on a Saturday.  Loule is about 65 km east of here and not far from Estoi where we were on Wednesday.  This market is the largest in the Algarve and Loule just happens to be a lovely city with a very nice market building.

When you enter the city from the south you traverse a narrow street right into the main traffic circle which just happens to be where the market is.  By turning right you enter a beautifully laid out boulevard of canopy trees, benches and of course a street on either side of the boulevard center.  Parking is on the left and right of either street so only a single lane leads up the middle of each street.  Luckily we only had to go about three blocks when someone pulled out on the right side.  However we had to wait until a not so skilled driver managed to back his car into a lane on the left side of the street.  That took three minutes and of course a traffic backup that kindly waited until I squeezed in on the right side.

Almost all of the streets around this market building are filled with vendor.

The fish market takes up half of the building
