- We decided to pick up some groceries on our way back from Loule. Of course the store is located on the main road into Carvoeiro, but there is a rear entrance/exit that makes a quicker connection to the road that takes us home. However, the little lane from the rear of the store goes between two walls and one has to be careful as you approach it because you can't see if there is a car coming toward you. If there is a car approaching from the other end of the road you use the layby area until they come through. Then you turn right to head across country to our road. The pavement is fine but the region has yet to widen the one bad narrow spot. So again you have to give way (you just stop on the wider portion of the road) before you go through and let the other car come ahead.
There are some lovely farms on that road and they have upgraded the walls bordering their property. Unfortunately some have been allowed to deteriorate badly.
These narrow lanes drive Mary crazy but she actually did the filming on this run. Sorry for the poor audio. I had to compress the original video to load it on the blog.

Kudos to Mary for holding her phone so steady on that dicey drive back to the condo. Reminds me of the tall, thick hedgerows in England and the impossibly narrow roads - lanes really. BUT those cement walls are a game changer and a little nerve racking I’m sure.
