Guia Mall Journal 19

Weather:  Cool and a bit of rain.

This is a small Mimosa tree on the grounds of Monte Santo.  They are flowering early for some reason.  When we go up to Monchique I will post some huge Mimosa trees that easily grow 80'.

We drove over to the Guia mall (officially the Algarve Shopping Mall) this afternoon.  It's about 20 km away on the N125.  It is the biggest open air mall this side of Faro.  It is a lovely place to shop although the stores are definitely higher end and aimed at a younger demographic.  There are at least a hundred stores and probably 35 lunch style restaurants.

The mall is two floors but open to the sky most of the way through.

In addition to the wide variety of clothing, electronics and jewellery stores it hosts a Continente grocery store that is easily the size of a Walmart and has 39 checkouts.  For real--39 checkouts.
