Tiny Beach in a Cove Journal 11

Mary and I really enjoy exploring.  Sometimes on foot but mostly by car.  We headed west along the coast and found a road that appeared to lead to the ocean.  You have to understand that most of these roads are very crooked and extremely hilly along the  coast.  They are also lined with villas of every shape and form on topography that would test a mountain goat.  Thank heaven most are paved.

The road made the usual ninety degree turns back and forth and then headed straight down.  We pulled off in a small parking place and walked over to the road railing to have a look at the ocean.  The first few pictures give you the idea.  Over to the right out of this picture there were surfers in wet suits.  I didn't get any good pictures as the waves were only 7 or 8 feet and they were having a difficult time of it.

The ocean was placid but there were still some nice curl coming in.

So we continued to the bottom of the hill and found EDD's beach cove cafe (pic).  Looked lovely with some nice cushioned chairs and chaise lounges.  Might be a nice place for a evening meal.  There are beach cafes all along the coast where the beaches are present.  Some are on mile long sand and others like this one are very cozy.

Then we headed back up the road and met another car head on.  Most drivers are good and you can just slow to a crawl and pass by without retracting your mirror (yep--they have retractable mirrors for a reason).  I suppose you can mount the curb but that's pretty amateurish and of course everyone is driving a manual transmission so you have to be handy with the clutch.  It pays to have a SMALL car.
