Weather: 17C at 7:30am Cloudy and high of 19C with 30% chance of rain.
Fact: It absolutely poured on the way home. The golfers must be getting frustrated.
Book Cellar
Lazy this morning but Mary got me going. We have read all of the six books we got last time so we returned them. Some of the books cost us 6 euros and some 5 euros but they all have a return premium of 2 euros. So our cost of reading after return was 24 euros.
We took 6 more today and bought one (5.89 euros). So we'll return those next week before we leave and get 12 euros back.
Paderia Vehla (old bakery)
Once we left the book shop M spotted the pastry shop across the road. So we ordered a coffee and pastel de nata each. Really quite cheap. 1.35 for the coffee and 1.30 for the pastry. The shop was full of Cdn's and Brits.
First shop we have seen where you insert your euro currency in a slot and it kicks out your change so no one behind the counter who is handling food is also handling dirty dirty money. We can only guess that they put it in because of Covid. They may be known as the 'old bakery' but the shop is always sparkling and new looking.
Gas
Gas is gasolina here as opposed to gasoleo (diesel). In absolute terms it's not that expensive. It runs about 1.60 euros ($2.40 Cdn) a litre but the car probably get 45-50 miles per gallon. Then we picked up some more oranges on the roadside.
Is this an exciting life or what!!!
