Portugal Wednesday, February 22/23

Weather:  18C and beautiful sun

After yesterday we needed a rest but M hauled me off to the pool again.  They have a small gym so I do some simple exercises in there before I go into the pool.  At the moment I'm just sitting here loading up yesterday's pics of the carnival.  Unfortunately the best videos of the parade don't seem to transfer to the computer from my phone.

The government has spent a lot of money on boardwalks along the coast.  There are miles of them.  This one is up above Carvoeiro on what is called Algar Seco.  The name seems to have several meanings so I'll just go with 'dry rocks'.    There are some lovely homes on the opposite side of the street.

The Algarve coast has a mixture of residential types.  In our area virtually all homes, apartments, etc. are maximum two story.  There are literally thousands and thousands of homes like this with a mile of the coast and around Carvoeiro.   Almost all have beautifully made steel gates and of course the tile work here is phenomenal.  Every house has a name rather than a number.
