 Weather:  Cool and windy in the morning but turned into a beautiful day

Out & About with J & E

We arranged with Jamie and Evelyn to give them a look around some of the Algarve yesterday.  We picked them up at 10 and made our first visit at Armacao de Pera.  In spite of the fact that A de P is a well populated place with hundreds of multi-story apartments it still has an active fishing community.  Attached are a couple of pictures.  These fellows go out in open boats (20-24') and fish off the coast with nets.  They fish at night and bring their catch to market in the early morning.  Much of their market is local restaurants and grocery outlets.

We visited Praia Grande (big beach) before heading into Armacao de Pera.  This beach is probably 300' deep or more and miles long.

These fellows were repairing nets.  The huts are for equipment.

We end up in Silves at Chirresquira de Valdemar for a open air lunch of chicken.  Time went by quickly for the rest of the day I'm sure we were all pretty tired when it was over.  Great day though!
