Even though it was a bit early this year we had our group Xmas party at the Moxam's in Orillia. As usual Enny has the house decorated to the hilt with every kind of christmas decoration known to man. Joan drove up with Gerry and Marilyn and Tom, Joanne and Janice came along with Mary and myself (Pierre the magnificent). We spent a few hours in Cookstown purchasing a new Alladin lampshade and a few other goodies as well as having lunch. After another half hour on the road we arrived at 177 Cedar Island Drive for our annual visit. Much to my surprise the lake (Lake Couchiching) was frozen over with about a 1/2" of ice. After our prerequisite walk to the lake and the Elgin Club in the snappy cold we settled in for supper and then opened gifts late into the evening. Gar and Enny put on the usual great spread so we all gained a few ounzes on the evening. Marilyn and Gerry slept in the master bedroom and Peter and Mary in the second bedroom with Tom and Joanne in the office with a mattress. Janice and Joan held the floor down for the night with Enny and Gar freezing in the family room (gotcha Gar!).
I went for a walk with Mary, Tom and Joanne to enjoy the higher temperature and misty morning before breakfast. After chewing the fat at the table for a few hours we set out for home and visited the antique mall in Cookstown where we bought a shaving mug or two between Tom and I. Arrived home about five o'clock to a very greasy driveway.
